Our Expert Team
As part of the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center offers a multidisciplinary professional and support team dedicated exclusively to cancer care. Patients of the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center have access to a complete range of medical specialists and treatments they need all in one location.
Many of the center's physicians are published authors who have been nationally and internationally recognized for their outstanding cancer research. The center provides a unique, open environment where staff and attending physicians collaborate on achieving the best care and most effective treatments for cancer patients. In fact, the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center has general oncology and multiple disease-specific tumor boards where the specific medical conditions of select patients are reviewed for the best possible courses of treatment.
To ensure the most complete continuum of care, the specialized team at the cancer center works with patients' referring physicians to determine the best courses of treatment for each patient.

A Multidisciplinary Approach
We know it is not enough to treat the disease. At the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center, numerous support services are available to assist cancer patients, as well as their families. These include our:
- Highly qualified nurses, who in addition to having experience working with persons with cancer, have received advanced training in oncology care - in fact most are oncology certified nurses (OCN), having earned certification in cancer care
- Practice nurses who coordinate critical aspects of patient care
- Onsite laboratory, radiology and pharmacy services, for prompt treatment and testing services
- Cancer pain and symptom management team
- Nutritional services
- Psychosocial services
