
Earl Warren Brien, MD is Surgical Director of Cedars-Sinai's Sarcoma Program and Director of Musculoskeletal Tumor Service at the Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Brien received his specialty training in musculoskeletal tumors at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and metabolic bone disease at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Cornell University. He has held academic appointments with the University of California, Irvine and the University of Southern California. Dr. Brien specializes not only in bone and soft tissue tumors but also has expertise in metabolic bone disease.
A diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Brien is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Orthopaedic Association and the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. He was the Cancer Liaison Physician for the American College of Surgeons for over ten years. His main clinical and research interests involve musculoskeletal tumors and metabolic bone disease.
Dr. Brien has been a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research. He has published numerous articles and has written book chapters in the area of bone and soft tissue tumors and metabolic bone disease. He has lectured nationally and internationally in these specialties as well.
